TRUMBAUERSVILLE, Pa. — Andrew Struebing, President of North American Specialty Glass (NASG), has announced the selection of David Shaner as Sales Manager for the company's architectural security glazing product line. In his new position Mr. Shaner will be responsible for sales and marketing of NASG's D-FenceGlas™ and VigilGard™ laminated transparencies for architectural applications.

Prior to joining NASG, Shaner had been an independent sales representative selling architectural glass and metal products to commercial glazing contractors. From 2000 until 2002 he was instrumental in helping Insulgard get their laminated glass facility (Nazareth, PA.) started. At Insulgard Dave was responsible for the sales of architectural detention glass products that provide resistance to ballistic attacks and forced entry.

In 2002, GE purchased the laminated glass business from Insulgard and formed GE Polymershapes Insulgard. Shaner remained with the company until 2004 when GE moved the manufacturing plant to Fogelsville, PA.

Before going to work with Insulgard in 2000, Shaner was in charge of architectural glazing sales for Sully, NA, a Trumbauersville-based division of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, one of the top industrial companies in the world headquarted in Paris, France. Sully, NA, a manufacturer of glass for armored, architectural, rail and specialty applications became North American Specialty Glass (NASG) in August, 2003 when the company was sold to an investor comprised of the Ironwood Manufacturing Fund and company management.

Shaner, 53, and his wife, Susan, a realtor with Keller Williams, reside in Ambler, PA. The couple has three daughters – Laurie, employed by ELS a division of Berlitz, a language instruction company; Julie, a medical school student starting the fall of 2008; and Christy, a professional soccer player with FC Indiana.
