Handling

North American Specialty Glass architectural glass products are delivered in sealed, wooden
containers marked by location, type, and size.

Upon arrival, NASG architectural glass containers are to be inspected by the customer. Any
damage is to be noted by the freight company. It is the responsibility of the customer to file
a claim if damage is found.

Keep glass shipments in crate until ready for installation.

Shipments should be stored indoors, in a clean, dry, and well ventilated area. Separate from any other construction activities.

Remove glass from the front of the crate. Do not try to remove by sliding glass from side of crate.

Rest glass only on cushioned surfaces.

Remove all protective materials immediately after installation, including protective film on glass and glazing.

Cleaning

Do not expose the edges of any laminated glass to organic solvents, acids, or cleaners containing ammonia.

Never use a sharp blade or scraper to remove deposits or clean the glass.

Initial Cleaning

  • Flush with water to soften and remove major deposits of dirt.
  • Use  a clean squeegee to remove excess water.
  • Clean glass with a mild nonabrasive, non-alkaline cleaner and a soft grit free cloth.
  • Use isopropyl alcohol, warm water and a mild detergent to remove fresh paint, grease, or smeared glazing compounds.

Routine Cleaning

  • Mild soap or detergent mixed with lukewarm water; clean with soft, grit free cloth.
  • Dry the cleaned surface immediately.
